Mutual Support Consulting's mission is to develop and promote evidence-based, person-centered, trauma-informed interventions that help people living with hoarding disorder. MSC provides professional development to social service agencies, therapists, peer specialists, residence service coordinators, senior and family service workers, animal control officers, professional organizers, and municipal task forces around the world.

MSC provides opportunities for people to help themselves and others who are struggling with mental and emotional health challenges by providing education, support, and hope to service providers, peers, and family members. Our approach is person-centered, evidence-based, and informed by our own lived experiences.
MSC offers private, in-home and remote decluttering support.
If you or someone you support needs in-home help with decluttering, please be in touch. MSC will work with you and your partners to develop a thoughtful, supportive plan that will focus on reducing harm and achieving a safe living space. Our goal is to help you meet your goals in the most sensitive, practical, efficient manner.

Catholic Healthcare was delighted to hold its Hoarding and Squalor Symposium, Letting Go, The Challenges of Disorganisation vs The Impact on Others on 30 October at NSW Parliament House. The event highlighted the impact of hoarding and squalor on individuals, families and communities; and emphasised the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to hoarding and squalor. Guest speakers included Associate Professor Melissa Norberg, Deputy Director for the Centre for Emotional Health at Macquarie University, plus Lee Shuer and Becca Belofsky, co-founders of Mutual Support Consulting in Massachusetts, USA and internationally recognised advocates for trauma-informed, person-centred human services.
